The new Louis Vuitton 2023 Menswear campaign

The new Louis Vuitton 2023 Menswear Collection elevates childhood symbols through the fashion house’s savoir-faire, oversized and shrunken silhouettes toying with the idea of a wardrobe yet to be grown-into or already outgrown. Images from the playground are present throughout: building block beading, origami paper planes, cartoon prints, modelling clay textures, and sandbox tool details.

Using a large playground as reference, a giant children’s toy racetrack erected in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre becomes a yellow brick road for the imagination. A road that leads childlike fantasies to come to life.

What can we expect from the new Louis Vuitton 2023 Menswear Collection?

The Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2023 Menswear Collection has been designed and produced by the Louis Vuitton Prêt-à-Porter Homme studio: an amazing team of creative minds who, in 2018, welcomed the renowned designer Virgil Abloh.

The studio has stayed true to its belief that the imagination, creativity, the spectacular, and craft, are all able to move and connect with audiences from all over the world. This is the philosophy that Virgil Abloh based his work for the fashion house on, a philosophy that continues to be advocated. That is precisely why having a Louis Vuitton bag or cap is now a synonym of luxury.

Evoking the decor of Louis Vuitton’s ancestral home in Asnières where thistles often appear in bouquets, the new Spring-Summer 2023 Menswear Collection includes a selection of pieces inspired by this prickly flower motif.

As an accentuation of the fashion house’s expert ateliers’ savoir-faire, the collection reflects on the playfulness of childhood, incorporating toolbox and building block elements into its garments, accessories, and even its Louis Vuitton suitcases.

With a lilac coloured breath of spring, a selection of pieces showcases elongated, romantic silhouettes combined with draped and sculpted jackets. As a nod to impressionism, flower field motifs appear on dégradé design chenille coats and puffer jackets, there is embroidery on draped pyjamas, and the company’s logo is adapted using a Shibori tie-dye technique.
