Is there anything more iconic than a watch that has been to the Moon? The iconic OMEGA Speedmaster, nicknamed the “Moonwatch”, is celebrating its 53rd anniversary as the favourite of astronauts and space agencies the world over after stepping on the Moon.

It is a timepiece that perfectly reflects the brand’s pioneering and adventurous spirit.
Less than a year after it was launched in 1957, it became quite the emblem in 1965 when it was approved by NASA for use on its manned space missions, thus becoming the first watch to travel into space with the Apollo 11 mission. It was used on another six lunar landings after that.
Following the 50th anniversary of that huge milestone, the iconic watch has updated its design and taken inspiration from the famous 4th generation style worn by the astronauts on that historic mission.
With a bracelet of five brushed convex links per row, this 42mm high alloy steel Moonwatch features a hesalite crystal on the front and an embossed Hippocampus medallion on the caseback.
It also includes an asymmetric case, black chamfered dial and the famous circle over 90 on the anodised aluminium bezel ring.
The watch incorporates the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 3861, which activates the small second hand on the sub-dial, the 30-minute and 12-hour counters and the central chronograph function.
Your mission? To be amazed by the Speedmaster Moonwatch at the new OMEGA boutique at Galería Canalejas from Mondays to Saturdays from 09:00 to 20:00 and on Sundays and public holidays from 12:00 to 20:00 at Plaza de Canalejas, 1.
